Empowering Change for Companion Animals

Logo for Friends of Pawtucket Animal Shelter featuring illustrations of two dogs inside a circular badge.

We have a commitment to working towards real change in our communities when it comes to animal welfare. Rather than continuing to struggle and try to handle/manage the growing issues that shelters, rescues and communities face, our goal is to solve problems at the root for long term and effective change. To assist in giving our Animal Control Officers the resources and tools they need to be able to help more animals in need, especially in blatant animal abuse situations. One of the most effective ways to implement long term change and really tackle the growing problems is through working with our elected officials to modernize outdated and messy legislation. That is currently taking place and right now there are multiple bills in regard to animal welfare going through the judiciary process. We can use your help to make it happen. Click the button below to see the bills being introduced, what they do and exactly how you can help. Thank you.

Looking for ways to get involved?

Whether you are looking to spend time with the smaller animals, get in the play yard with some pups, take one of our dogs for a walk through the park or if you’re a local business looking to donate, a corporation looking to sponsor a kennel or a legislator looking to work together to make a difference, we would love to get in touch and work together towards a common goal.
